As a Physician Engagement Associate , you will contribute to the overall success of the Business Development/ Early Career Education Specialist (ECES) team in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
The Physician Engagement Associate generates and nurtures prospects opportunities and uses a structured follow-up process to convert opportunities into new MD clients supporting the ECES team. The incumbent is responsible for pursuing new client relationships by maximizing opportunities with existing and new clients. Their approach will be reactive to business needs and value-added in their client interactions.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Focus on inbound lead triage, maintaining and exceeding current service level expectations.
- Focus on following-up and nurturing of prospective business opportunities primarily in the early career business line.
- Utilize data to obtain a better understanding of the prospect’s engagement level with MD.
- Work collaboratively with the early career education specialists to engage prospects in meeting with an early career advisor at MD.
- Partner with the ECES team to assist with executing on their business development strategies.
- Manage referrals and track pipeline reporting to ensure effective sales management.
- Maintain solid knowledge and understanding of market conditions and financial planning competitive advantage to maintain value-added relationship development.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

The Must Haves:
- University degree, college diploma or equivalent educational and/or professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and very proficient with Excel.
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the financial services industry
- Experience in the financial services industry is highly desirable.
- Bilingual is preferred.

- Knowledge or experience in the Wealth Management industry is an asset.
- Knowledge of the physician focused environment an advantage
