JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Security Support Advisor located in Pickering, ON.
Reporting to the Section Manager Security & Emergency Services, the Security Support Advisor will contribute to the development of security plans, regulatory correspondence, problem identification and causal analysis risk assessments, self-assessments, and contingency plans. They will also contribute to the development of site procedures and instructions to support risk management practices, emergency and contingency planning and coordinate site business planning, performance measurements and costing capabilities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Maintain strict adherence to the confidentiality of security protected materials.
- Coordinate Performance Audit responses and ensure effective and timely completion.
- Working with Security Training to support site security operations and Corporate Security to manage security processes and procedures to ensure they are up to date and elicit the appropriate response and action to any event.
- Develop, maintain and provide advice on implementing an information management system, and tools to provide analytical assessments and to meet information requirements for Security Training management, site management, Corporate Security, and performance measures.
- Conduct computer applications to abstract data from different sources, analyze and summarize into useful information in support of the Nuclear Assessment Programs.
- Work in conjunction with external and internal partners and customers to ensure security standards, objectives, and services are responsive and meeting performance requirements.
- Coordinate and develop threat and risk assessments and site security contingency plans. The plans will assess potential threats and liabilities to the site and physical security systems and equipment, and provide recommendations to address them. Liaise with site management, security staff, Corporate Security, and external organizations to ensure comprehensive, high quality plans and assessments.
- Analyze and report on the results of risk assessments identifying conclusions, recommendations and target completion dates for improvement; plan management actions and follow up status.
- Keep abreast of pertinent measurement and performance assessment concepts, applications and results to be incorporated into planning and development activities.
- Establish and implement processes that ensure all SCRs, Corrective Action Plans, Action Tracking, and Work Requests are completed on time.
- Develop reports on a monthly and quarterly basis as required, to support station licensing requirements and internal assessment programs.
- Maintain a security threat and risk assessment program to collect, review and evaluate on an ongoing basis, security incident information and emerging issues and to disseminate this assessment information in a timely manner.
- Accountable for the department work management program including the status reporting trending and administration of corrective actions. This will require liaison with maintenance and performance engineering work groups.
EDUCATION
- College Diploma or University Degree in Police Foundations, Law and Security Administration, Criminology or equivalent experience normally acquired during successful continuous employment in an enforcement, statutory compliance, training, military, emergency management field or comparable security environment.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 1-3 years of of experience with federal, provincial or municipal legislation or equivalent in a regulated environment.
- Successful employment in an enforcement, statutory compliance, regulatory compliance, military, emergency management field or comparable security environment and successfully completed relevant post-secondary education. Or possess the equivalent qualifications normally acquired during successful continuous experience in enforcement, statutory compliance, military, emergency management field or comparable security environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships with station staff and other internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in providing high level, detailed written reports/correspondence, with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- Proficient in trend analysis and ability to design and conduct presentations to management and peers.
- Must have advanced computer skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Have a valid driver's license and have ability to successfully acquire standard first aid and CPR certificates.
- Have the ability to successfully obtain a Level II Security Clearance as facilitated by OPG.

The base salary range considers many factors including, but not limited to experience, education, and training, including any collective agreement requirements for union represented positions. It is not typical for the salary to be offered near the top of the range, and salary is dependent on numerous factors. For management roles, the base salary range does not represent the total compensation package. The total compensation package for regular full-time management roles includes pay-for-performance programs for annual and medium time periods.
