Purpose
The Manager, U.S. FP&A Lead- Management Reporting is responsible for the delivery of value-adding and insightful information and analytics to senior management. Further responsibilities include the design and development of the suite of management reporting to ensure these are fit for purpose and are addressing the needs of stakeholders. The position requires regular collaboration with the U.S. and global FP&A team members to ensure business performance and narratives are accurately reflected in the management reports.
As the Management Reporting Lead, you are expected to identify and challenge, as necessary, any inconsistencies in the numbers or narratives that are identified and must ensure that all activities conducted comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. Reporting commitments include the Monthly Business Report to the U.S. senior leadership; U.S. Executive Committee and the SHUSA Board reports, regulatory updates for the CFO, and ad-hoc reporting as may be required.
You will also coordinate the delivery of the annual profit plan reports to senior management, ensuring that the narratives are consistent with the financial projections, and that the reports reflect the latest available projections from the business and other stakeholders. This will require proactive engagement with group FP&A and the COO teams to ensure all stakeholders are collectively aligned. Furthermore, the Management Reporting Lead must ensure that inputs and analysis provided by the FP&A Director, the U.S. GBM Controller, and the U.S. CFO are reflected and reporting commitments are met.
The Management Reporting Lead is also tasked with enhancing the team’s capabilities to complete deliverables, improve controls, and reduce production time by incorporating new technology and tools into the existing reporting framework.
What You’ll Do
Coordinate and lead the production of management reporting
Maintain all financial models and corresponding files leveraged in the management reporting process
Develop and improve management reporting content in alignment with business strategies and objectives
Manage, develop, and design the reporting package for the annual planning process
Develop and maintain procedures for management reporting
Contribute to development of new analysis across P&L, Balance Sheet, and KPI’s
Leverage Bank relationships, new technologies & systems, and knowledge to execute and improve core responsibilities
Contribute to a client-focused culture to leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge; contribute to a team environment to produce creative and value add strategic analysis
Design, enhance and develop management reporting and metrics, and maintains operating procedures; Influence and contribute to the continuous improvement of the planning process
Work with Business and Functional partners to prepare and update bottom-up financial plans, forecasts, and other forward-looking financial reviews, identify issues, and provide commentary to align financial projections to balance sheet, capital, and risk appetite
Develop recommendations and analysis to support stakeholder decisions that impact P&L, Balance Sheet, and Legal Entities
Provide analysis, support and counsel to business line management related to management reporting, planning, and forecasting
Work collaboratively with other stakeholders in GBM to access management information systems required to perform the duties of the position
Support ad hoc requests from Executive Management, auditors, regulators, ratings agencies, research analysts and other external parties as required
What You’ll Bring
Bachelors degree required. CPA/MBA preferred
5-8 years of verifiable progressive experience of financial planning and analysis, ideally within the Financial Services sector
Knowledge of inter-relationships between business lines and legal entities, particularly in large scale, complex organizations
Experience with management reporting of revenues, expenses, balance sheet, resources across business lines and entities. Business Case preparation and cost benefit analysis experience a plus
Skilled in the preparation and presentation of financial results, variances, commentary and management information
Knowledge of Commercial Banking and Capital Markets products a plus
Knowledge of planning and reporting tools such as Hyperion Essbase, Anaplan and/or Power BI, and familiarity with the toolset typical of a Finance / accounting department
Ability to develop strong relationships to gain the confidence of stakeholders
Strong verbal and written communication skills to interface between finance and other support communities and document requirements and solutions for process improvement
Proven ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
