Your Opportunity
Stantec is seeking two (2) Junior Civil Engineers or Civil Technologists to join our highly successful water practice in Winnipeg, MB.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site contract administration to support construction projects with construction observation duties at the communities we work in. This will involve being involved with all aspects of the construction project at the site as well as undertaking of administrative project coordination tasks.
- Coordinating with engineers and technical staff to ensure that the projects’ needs are met in a timely and effective manner.
- Undertake information for study and design projects including report review, drawing review, and field reconnaissance for information gathering and sampling or testing.
- Perform detailed studies, review plans, and design tasks associated with municipal water, wastewater and stormwater systems and related facilities, under the supervision of a project manager and senior design staff
- Participate in writing and editing technical reports and engineering studies.
- Preparing plans and specifications for water, wastewater and stormwater facilities.
- Meeting with clients, municipal officials, and contractors to review project needs and coordinate field conditions.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Must be a graduate of an engineering or civil technologist program with the ability to be registered with the associated professional organizations within six months.
- Experience with construction and/or design of treatment facilities, water distribution, wastewater collection, and stormwater management facilities is preferred.
- AutoCAD and Civil 3D skills are very desirable.
- Be a self-motivated individual, possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
Education and Experience
- Must have 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience
- Must have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical or related Engineering field or a Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology
