Director, Senior Data Analyst, Office of the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) – SLC Management
WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU
The Director, Senior Data Analyst will work in partnership with the Office of the CIO, and the SLC Digital Solutions & Innovations team to identify areas of opportunities where data analysis (including statistical modeling, AI, etc) can be leveraged to create a positive outcome for the asset management business.
Reporting to the Managing Director, Chief of Staff, Office of the CIO & the Senior Managing Director, Client Experience, Data & Analytics, and Innovation Platforms Owner, the Senior Data Analyst will leverage their in-depth asset management and/or capital markets knowledge to provide a hands-on, strong analytical and data-driven approach to help organize, visualize, and understand large data sets.
We are looking for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced and agile environment and knows how to juggle multiple deadlines. We are looking for a clear communicator who is comfortable negotiating and making recommendations to various levels of leadership.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Define and clearly articulate problem statements to allow for collaboration on solutions that meet business needs.
- Facilitate sessions and drive discussions to uncover critical and/or hidden requirements, the true business need, and associated risks.
- Leverage the data assets to provide recommendations and convey key insights to answer business questions. Communicate data insights and findings across the organization via presentations & documents.
- Create re-usable data assets for the firm by acquiring, digesting, and analysing raw datasets.
- Create unique and descriptive visualizations that bring data to life, intuitively telling the story behind data.
- Work with engineering to develop scalable data pipelines that allow for accurate and insightful views into the data.
- Manage discussions, conflicts, and negotiations through to resolution, using communication strategies that align with different audience styles, environments and/or cultures.
- Work in collaboration with teams across SLC Management and SLF Corporate
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED:
- 7+ years’ experience in a data analyst role, ideally from asset management industry (CFA preferred).
- Expert at writing SQL queries and data analysis with python.
- Extensive experience creating visualization using various tools such as PowerBI, and Tableau.
- Expert at pulling, cleaning, and manipulating large sets of data into insights.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have the ability to work independently with your business partners to deliver an outcome.
- Understanding of common statistical methods and their real-world applications.
- Experience operating in an ambiguous environment with competing priorities.
