As the Director of our IT Risk & Access Control Group (ACG) you will lead a team of IT Risk Analysts and project resources who support our global Wealth Management (WM) businesses’ secure and compliant use of technology. In partnership with our Group Risk Management (GRM) and Global Cyber Security (GCS) teams, you will act as a trusted advisor to our business stakeholders in their understanding of safe and secure IT practices in their adoption and usage of third-party applications and other IT and data assets, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and RBC’s policies and standards.
In this role, you will manage the day-to-day operations and effectiveness of IT risk-related programs and initiatives; assess potential threats and solutions required to eliminate or minimize threats. Manage activities through senior managers and managers and implement corporate and divisional strategic plans and budgets.
What will you do?
- Lead the WM Access Control Group (ACG) within Operational Risk & Shared Services
- Lead the strategy and planning for maturation of ACG operations, capabilities and technology roadmap
- Develop & maintain strong relationships with Business and Technology stakeholders to ensure understanding of needs and priorities while keeping them informed on Enterprise change initiatives and priorities
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
- Represent Wealth Management (WM) at enterprise forums and working groups
- Direct data analytics and quality to inform reporting & monitoring standardization, operational direction and project execution, providing business partners with relevant and up-to-date performance reports to support informed decisions
- Work with project teams and other resources to communicate WM Business Risk requirements and priorities in the development and deployment of solutions
- Provide guidance on policy and compliance requirements, including the provision of coaching and education to various stakeholders within Wealth Management.

- Ability to independently organize and manage work of others, comfortable multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates exceptional judgment and integrity with the ability to think strategically and give practical advice, considering the regulatory and business objectives
- Ability to manage through influence at all levels, especially at senior levels
- Critical thinking, analytical and research skills with the ability to rapidly gain understanding of new technologies.
- Strong communication and relationship management skills with the ability to present information effectively, able to inspire trust and quickly build credibility with diverse stakeholders
- Experience working in business technology projects and/or business analysis, with knowledge and understanding of agile methodologies for solution design and delivery
- A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization, and problem- solving skills which support and enable sound decision making
Nice-to-have
- A leader with a global mindset and naturally adept at partnering within a global matrix organization
- Bachelors of Commerce, IT or equivalent, Masters designation
- 10+ years’ combined experience working with business and technology stakeholders in Enterprise Identity Access Management, Information Security and/or IT Risk domains
- 5+ years’ of people management experience
