What is the opportunity?
Actuarial Services provides support to Customer Service, primarily High Net Worth clients regarding Life & Health Insurance policy values and policyholder taxation issues. You should be a strong mathematically oriented individual with the ability to work under tight deadlines to provide accurate and timely values to our clients.
What will you do?
- Provide calculated policy values for High Net Worth clients upon client request
- Provide policyholder taxation calculation for all Life policies
- Be a strong team member for testing of new products with respect to premium calculations, exempt test calculations, policy values
- Recognize issues on the Life administration systems and work with business specialists to resolve
- Respond daily to client requests and be able to prioritize importance in order to best serve our clients
What will you need to succeed?
Must have
- BSc. in Mathematics, Finance, Actuarial or related fields with exposure in applying Information Technology disciplines and techniques, some actuarial exams
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience within a testing discipline relating to product and pricing implementations
- Knowledge of MS Office products, primarily Excel
- Ability to work effectively and prioritize in a deadline oriented environment and communicate effectively (both oral and written) with all “key relationships”
- Ability to escalate issues and work to drive resolution
- Apply strong attention to detail in mathematical calculations
Nice to have
- ASA designation
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and flexibility to adapt to change
- Ability to work effectively with team within department and with other departments as project work dictates
- Knowledge of programming language APL is an asset
- Ability to problem solve and recognize opportunities for improvements in processes
