Purpose of Job
The Assistant Manager – I&O Projects is accountable for providing support and leading projects for Business Banking Operations in alignment with the Bank’s strategy to mitigate operational and structural cost as well as to develop solutions to create processing efficiencies. Responsibilities also include development and provisioning of dashboard reporting, trending, forecasting and analysis on various aspects of the business units which includes key performance indicators and operational performance commitments.
The Assistant Manager – I&O Projects provides oversight, triage and management of resolution for issues/opportunities originating from the business units and various partners. The employee promotes a performance-oriented culture that is focused on our customers and supports strategic initiatives that result in improved customer experiences and operational effectiveness.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Leads/Supports the execution of initiatives and projects by providing research, analysis and gathering required data/information from partners and stakeholders. Organizes meetings as appropriate and distributes meeting minutes.
- Supports development, documentation, and revision of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process maps for all Business Banking Operations business units. Monitors and manages SOP action plans, sustainment plans, and related activities.
- Develops, prepares and distributes various levels of dashboard reporting for projects, initiatives, and overall operational performance. This includes reporting on key performance indicators, operational performance commitments, productivity and forecasting. Provides insight on trends and executes on activities to improve results and related process flows.
- Provides oversight, triage and management of resolution for issues/opportunities, establishes priority and escalates where necessary.
- Provides support with publications, job aids and change management activities.
- Maintains and monitors project/initiative plans, schedules, budgets and expenditures for assigned initiatives. Prepares necessary presentation materials for meetings and supports development of communication/training packages. Undertakes project tasks as required.
- Ensures that projects/initiatives adhere to frameworks and documentation is maintained appropriately. Assess project risks and issues and provides solutions where applicable.
- Builds effective relationships and strategic alliances with peers, Corporate and Commercial partners and business/technology partners. Provides assistance with the day to day interaction with the operational units.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Post-Secondary education related to the financial industry or equivalent
- Project experience at a major financial institution
- Excellent knowledge of banking products, services, policies and procedures, banking regulations and related regulatory requirement
- Thorough understanding of the Bank’s systems such as PEGA; nCino;
- Ability to support multiple project/initiatives, weighing often under conflicting priorities, and delivering results
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and organization skills
- Excellent skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and SharePoint)
- Power Business Intelligence (BI) skills is an asset
- Highly analytical with experience in developing reporting and forecasting
- Highly skilled with creating presentation decks and various levels of communications
Working Conditions
Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
Limited/moderate/extensive (update as appropriate) travel domestically/internationally/globally (update as appropriate).
