Academic Clinical Psychologist/Full-time Faculty Member
We invite applications for an outstanding opportunity available for the full-time position of Academic Clinical Psychologist/ Full-time Faculty Member with appropriate experience to work in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioural Neurosciences (DPBN), McMaster University. This full-time faculty appointment is in the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster, with financial compensation coming from other salaried employment through our partner hospital, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. This position is restricted to candidates currently employed as a Clinical Psychologist/Neuropsychologist within the Clinical Neuropsychology program at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton.
The appointee of this position will hold a full-time academic appointment in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at an academic rank appropriate to their credentials and experience. We are interested in applications from candidates who have shown research interest and expertise in neurocognitive and functional disorders and in the field of addictions medicine. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research at the highest international level and to establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.
Candidates for this position are also expected to have experience and expertise in psychology education, including through teaching and supervision of psychometrists, graduate students, neuropsychology residents and neuropsychology postdoctoral fellows. The successful candidate will also have experience conducting academic activities that complement and enhance our existing departmental strengths in addictions and cognitive disorders and that encourage growth within this area.
The appointee to this position will participate fully in all appropriate departmental and divisional administrative, educational and research committees and meetings and will contribute, collaborate, and consult with other programs departmentally.

Qualifications:
• The candidate will have a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree(s) from a Canadian Psychological Association accredited program or equivalent program and must be licensed to work as a Psychologist in the Province of Ontario, holding a College of Psychologists of Ontario specialty certification in Clinical Psychology (Adult) or an equivalent designation.
• The candidate will have training and expertise in conducting academic research in the field of neurocognitive disorders, functional disorders, and addictions and in the teaching and supervision of clinical psychology trainees, with preference given to candidates with 2-5 years practice experience.
• The candidate will have demonstrated experience in teaching with all levels of learners and will provide leadership and training to future Psychologists.
• The candidate will provide evidence of excellent research productivity that aligns with the departmental academic mission and vision demonstrated through a record of high-quality publications in top-ranked and field relevant journals or forthcoming publications meeting high international standards, presentations at significant conferences, and awards.
• The candidate will already hold a full-time employment position as a Clinical Psychologist / Neuropsychologist at our partner organization, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton.
