Do you have an interest in championing health and wellness for employees? In this is a dynamic and pivotal role, you will lead and support the development of programs and resources that protect and enrich the physical and mental well-being of all Suncor employees.You will lead a geographically dispersed team on complex medical and case management issues and manage the day-to-day delivery of the Integrated Disability Management (IDM) program. You will support case management including determining:
Employees’ fitness for work
If employees' absence from work or request for modified duties is medically supported
Initial and ongoing eligibility for Short & Long Term Disability (STD & LTD) or workers’ compensation benefits
Minimum Requirements:
Five or more years of case management experience in a multi-faceted complex organization
Previous coaching, mentoring, and people-leading experience
Strong communication skills and the ability to have difficult conversations with effective resolutions
Bachelor's degree in human sciences, kinesiology, physiotherapy, nursing, or related field
Extensive knowledge of illness, disease, and injury recovery processes
Experience working in the oil and gas or mining sector is preferred
Knowledge of relevant provincial employment legislation and legal requirements including workers’ compensation, disability plans and contracts, privacy, and human rights
Good computer skills; knowledge of Cority would be considered an asset
Non-authoritative skills to influence internal and external stakeholders
Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of health and wellness advisors and provide direction on complex cases
Identify and assess risk factors impacting employees' safe, sustainable, and timely return to work
Manage cases to resolution
Facilitate the growth and development the case management team
Foster a supportive and inclusive work environment
Identify trends and escalate issues to the Manager, Case Management
Location and other Key Details:
This is an office-based position with the potential to travel to other Suncor locations across Canada
You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W. OR you will work out of our Hardin Street office in Fort McMurray, Alberta, located at 9816 Hardin Street
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended on-call work hours based on business needs
