Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation is currently seeking an Analyst to join the Finance team within the Financial Services Unit (“FSU”). The Financial Services Unit manages the finance activities for Pembina, plus capital structure, capital markets activity (debt/equity), credit facility and rating agency management, treasury operations/cash management, accounts payables and receivables and corporate credit cards. The successful candidate will act as a trusted partner to FSU and be responsible for finance related activities for Pembina, its joint ventures and development projects.
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- General: conduct due diligence, financial analysis, market research, modelling/forecasting, and create presentations to support Finance workstreams;
- Rating Agency: prepare analysis and presentations for rating agency reviews. Maintain a detailed understanding of rating agency methodologies and trends;
- Credit Facilities: support the team (as required) to ensure Pembina maintains efficient access to bank credit facilities and project financing. Participate in external meetings with lenders;
- Debt Capital Markets: prepare due diligence, review documents, and support issuance of debt securities (senior bonds, subordinated debt, preferred shares, and other forms of capital);
- Derivative Strategies: propose and execute approved hedging plans for risk management of foreign exchange and interest rate exposure;
- Financial Modelling: develop, maintain, and analyze financial models;
- Market Research: actively monitor the energy sector and capital markets generally for new developments impacting Pembina;
- Partnership: build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders;
- Business Unit Support: provide Finance related support to other business units and projects (including Cedar LNG);
- Ad hoc requests related to corporate finance, project finance, hedging, and other matters (including cost of capital analysis and peer comparisons);

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas is preferred: Economics or Business Administration with a focus on Finance or Accounting (or a related field);
- Possess or working towards advanced education is preferred but not required (MBA, CFA, CPA);
- 2 - 5 years’ work experience, preferably with experience in accounting, finance, and/or treasury;
- Experience with financial statement analysis, forecasting, and assessment;
- Proven financial modelling capabilities;
- Knowledge of S&P Capital IQ and/or Bloomberg is an asset;
- Knowledge of hedge accounting is an asset;
- Effective communicator (strong written and verbal skills); and
- Highly capable with MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
