We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Geophysicist to join our central geoscience team. In this role, you will apply your expertise in geophysical interpretation and data acquisition to support In Situ growth projects, regional water disposal projects, and onshore conventional oil exploration. Key responsibilities include providing regional and field-specific geophysical analysis, integrating various geophysical datasets, and collaborating across teams to optimize exploration and development strategies.- Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics, Geology, or a related field
- Professional member of APEGA (P. Geo or P. Geoph) or eligible for designation
- 10 years of experience in geophysics, with priority given to In Situ experience
- Advanced knowledge of geophysical methods, including seismic interpretation, velocity modeling, and geophysical attribute analysis.
- Proficiency in geophysical software and tools (e.g. Petrel, Rok Doc, Hampson-Russel)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to scale work according to impact.
- Good understanding of the rock physics related to fluid, temperature and pressure changes typically associated with In Situ production
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; focus on collaboration and integration
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated leadership and project management abilities
- Conduct geophysical interpretation to advance In Situ growth projects, with a focus on enhancing resource evaluation and operational planning
- Provide regional geophysical assessments to guide water disposal initiatives and support regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with geological, engineering, and project teams to deliver high-impact geophysical insights that optimize exploration and development outcomes
- Identify, acquire, and process seismic and non-seismic geophysical data to improve subsurface understanding
- Co-develop and maintain subsurface models to support reservoir characterization, simulation and production forecasting
- Contribute to geoscience development through formal and informal mentoring and coaching
- Influence team business planning through integration of geoscience and non-geoscience information
- You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
