About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary full-time Community Recruiter to join our dynamic Donor Relations & Field Operations team.
The Donor Relations & Field Operations team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by collecting plasma in a safe manner to enable safe products which save lives every day. In this role, you will be attending events/festivals to engage with community members and create brand awareness about Canadian Blood Services. This opportunity would give you the chance to interact with hundreds of festival goers and attendees while enjoying the activities in your local community.
Formula for success
- Utilizing your communication skills, you will educate and inform the general public about the need for donors locally.
- Drawing on your ability to connect with people, you will fill up a robust contact platform to allow us to communicate further with these interested community members.
- With your excellent interpersonal skills, you will work with volunteers who are also looking to support the growth of the awareness about Canadian Blood Services.
- Leveraging your experience in developing and managing sales opportunities, you will identify events/festivals and other opportunities to set up activation booths.
- At events, you will organize, set up and maintain the supplies for these activation display booths.
Desired education and skills
- Experience with sales, promotions and/or marketing and dealing with the public
- Ability to initiate conversation and speak comfortably regarding opportunities to get involved at Canadian Blood Services.
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Strong personal initiative and a passion for the cause
- Some post-secondary education, plus related experience or equivalent combination
- Preference will be given to those with an interest in Sales, Communications, Marketing or Public Outreach
- Preference will be given to those with previous experience with volunteers and volunteering
- Experience with use of devices such as tablets and laptops
- Experience with use of social media

- Shift/hours - available to work days, afternoons, evenings and weekends
- Travel requirements - travel will be required to community events. We offer a mileage program if using a personal vehicle
- Physical requirements - ability to lift weight up to 10 kg (22 lbs.)
