Global Technology Services (GTS) is one of the foundational divisions of the TMX Group, that empowers internal TMX business lines for their technology needs, operations and digital innovation. The cost effective operation is a key attribute of the GTS execution. GTS is responsible for delivery of all technology initiatives and services across TMX.
The Hybrid Cloud Engineer is responsible for management and support of various cloud and infrastructure platforms. The incumbent will design, build ,and maintain technical solutions based on business requirements and evaluation of information technology trends and practices.
The engineer will require a broad skill set with excellent problem solving and analytical skills in addition to a strong automation and programmatic, Infrastructure as Code, approach to systems management.
Position Key Accountabilities

Advocate for and drive the adoption of cloud technology.
Develop, lead and maintain cloud platform services to enable innovation and responsible use throughout the organization.
Design, install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
Designing and deploying sophisticated distributed solutions in the cloud ( IaaS, SaaS, and PaaS)
Create and maintain systems configuration leveraging industry standard configuration management tools and processes
Translate business requirements into technical solutions utilizing best practices and standards that meet the strategic business goals
Develop scripts for programmatic solutions to complex systems tasks
Identify system resource bottlenecks and work with other teams to test and tune systems for optimal performance
Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and availability
Create, maintain and enforce systems standards
Create and maintain procedural and technical documentation
Provide 2nd and 3rd level systems support
Provide rotational on-call support outside of regular business hours
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
Identify and recommend emerging technologies as they relate to team objectives
Demonstrates strong organizational and priority setting skills
Be a thought Leader who is capable of initiating and driving change
Must haves
A college diploma or university degree or relevant job experience in computer science or engineering
Superb communication and technical documentation skills - can communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical humans
5 years public cloud experience (ideally AWS)
Public Cloud Certification, ideally AWS
Strong Linux operating system knowledge (RedHat Linux preferred)
Significant experience with IaC GitOPS (Ansible, Terraform, GitHub/Gitlab)
Container platforms and orchestration (OpenSHIFT, EKS, Rancher RKE, GKE)
Excellent scripting skills (Perl/Python)
Nice to haves
Server Hardware experience (Ideally HP, Dell, And Cisco UCS)
Experience utilizing open-source monitoring technologies (eg: Grafana, Graphite, Nagios)
Experience with virtualization (VMWare)
Private cloud experience (OpenStack)
Splunk experience
