Your Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the coordination of the delivery of multi-disciplinary transportation projects with other Transportation Departments and other corporate business units.
- Oversee and ensure the financial performance of the individual projects
- Demonstrate leadership to motivate and maximize individual performance
- Oversee project teams to establish client needs and coordination of work
- Mentor junior and intermediate staff
- Develop the client base and project experience of the department
- Engaging with clients, teaming partners and other stakeholders promotes the design capabilities of the department
- Provide excellent customer service to our clients fostering repeat business
- Develop new business for the Transportation department through business development activities
- Participate in Go/No-go decisions to pursue new opportunities
- Work with our Business development team to respond to requests for proposals including preparation of work plans and fees
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Professional Engineering license
- Minimum 10 years of project or design management experience leading engineering design projects and leading multi-discipline engineering teams
- Experience in leading projects utilizing industry-recognized design delivery processes, software and project delivery platforms (i.e. OpenRoads, Civil 3D) is an asset.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills combined with excellent oral, written and presentation skills
- Commitment to quality service excellence
- Experience managing project financials and project deliverables
- Strong working relationships with clients, both municipal and provincial
- Experience with Alternative Project Delivery such as Design-Build, P3. or AFP delivery model for transportation infrastructure is an asset
Education and Experience
Professional Engineering license
Minimum 10 years of project or design management experience leading engineering design projects and leading multi-discipline engineering teams
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
