We are looking for a Solution Architect to develop the architectural strategy and lead the technology for projects centered around Suncor's business application suite, with a focus on SAP systems. You will be responsible for creating solution architecture artifacts and providing leadership on complex, high-risk projects, particularly during analysis and high-level design phases.Minimum Requirements:
Five years of experience working as an SAP Solution Architect on moderate to high complexity projects
B.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent preferred
Experience in the Oil and Gas industry is desirable
Proven experience in designing, integrating and supporting solutions based on S/4HANA, BW4HANA, SAP BTP as well as SAP LOB SaaS and analytics solutions
Good understanding of integration technologies and SAP extensibility patterns
Broad understanding of SAP product lines, roadmaps and strategy
Experience in design and deployment of SAP Solutions to hyperscalers
Experience in use of Enterprise Architecture planning tools such as LeanIX or Avolution Abacus
Responsibilities:
Develop integrated cross functional view of ongoing as well as planned initiatives, their dependencies and target architectures
Develop multi-year roadmaps to support business plans
Work with clients in early stages of projects to understand their solution requirements and help develop solutions which are optimal for the Suncor environment
Create and maintain technical architecture and design documentation
Define guiding principles for solution design and extensibility
Develop and maintain set of approved solution architecture patterns within the SAP space
Co-create technical specification for custom development and systems integration requirements
Accountable for the development and implementation of solution designs and conceptual architectures that address business, application, information, technical and security architectural domains
Responsible for developing and documenting approved architectural solution patterns and guiding decisions on deviation requests
Location and other Key Details:
This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
