Your Key Responsibilities
- Prepare contract drawings, specifications, schedules, details and sketches from conceptual design through to construction.
- Produce aspects of mechanical design and drawings in 2D and 3D software, such as AutoCAD, Plant3D and Navisworks.
- Successfully carry out assignments on project design teams.
- Help draft drawings and graphic work to be reviewed by a senior member of the team.
- Assist with field surveys for drawing developments, site reviews and as recorded drawings.
- Communicate with other team members and become familiar with Stantec standards.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Basic understanding of Mechanical drafting and design.
- Understands basics of enhanced 3D Software and knowledge of CAD Standards.
- Basic knowledge of software programs including AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Navisworks, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
- Developing cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work under and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.
- Work as a contributing team member within a multi-discipline team.
- Understand and work within Stantec's quality control guidelines.
- Comply with Stantec's EH&S program, with a focus on safety in the field.
- Strong desire to learn and work in a team environment.
- Ability to take direction, follow process and accept feedback and suggestions from Senior Engineers / Designers.
Education and Experience
- Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 0-2 years of experience.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
