Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director, Disability Management and Workplace Practices, the incumbent will be responsible to oversee both disability and workplace injuries management groups, and provide strategic guidance, technical expertise and support to the senior consultants, including the following:
Develops and proposes various approaches to improve the management of activities under their responsibility;
Ensures the implementation of performance indicators in his/her field of activity, monitors their evolution and produces reports on them;
Provides expert leadership and acts as a primary resource and expert on issues relating to his/her area of activity, intervenes and recommends appropriate solutions when needed;
Acts as a resource for best practices and legislation related to its field of activity, to ensure continuous improvement in its sector;
Manages, mobilizes, evaluates and sets objectives for a team of professionals;
Oversees the distribution of tasks and responsibilities among team members;
Promotes the development of team members' skills and ensures the quality of services and activities in their sector;
Promotes team spirit and manages conflicts;
Manages the budget and material resources, participates in the preparation of budget forecasts for section activities;
Maintains and develops partnerships with various departments and stakeholders, represents the department on various internal and external committees, and keeps abreast of new developments in activities related to the field;
Assumes responsibility for all workers compensation account across Canada and act as their official representative;
Engages third party experts and vendors as required for national workers’ compensation performance reports and financial reviews when needed;
Supports leaders and HR consultants in complex disability and workers’ compensation related situations;
Partners with Bell’s workplace health team to develop health promotion campaigns, enhance workplace mental health programs and provide input on Bell’s workplace mental health scorecard results;
Partners with Bell’s Health and Safety team to analyze Worker’s Compensation financial performance as well as preventive health and safety programs (industrial hygiene studies, ergonomic assessments, etc.)
Supports mergers and acquisitions and the integration of new companies being brought under Bell / BCE ownership (Worker’s Compensation accounts amalgamation, STD – LTD transition, etc.)
Critical Qualifications
- Bachelors degree +10 years experience in disability management and workers’ compensation
- Knowledge of the workers’ compensation financial systems and regulations in force in provinces (Canada-wide)
- Relevant experience in large size corporate environment with unionized workforce
- Strong team leading skills
- Bilingual French and English (written and oral)
- Ability to work with the Microsoft suite (Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Knowledge of SIGMA-RH an asset
- Knowledge of SAP an asset
