The Team 

 

The Cerberus Technology team is a crucial part of the Trading Application team under the Global Banking and Market Engineering Group. This is an opportunity to work in the fast-moving and exciting world of Capital Markets. We are looking for a Software Engineer to join this dynamic team and take on a challenging and exciting role.

 

You will be responsible for managing a team of software engineers engaged in the design, development, and delivery of trading applications and technical solutions to resolve complex, multi-dimensional business problems. You will have the opportunity to work with talent individuals from cross functional teams and be responsible to implement market leading solutions that are scalable, in high quality, deliver excellence, and add value to our business partners and customers.

 

We are looking for a results-oriented, creative, highly motivated individual with a curious mindset, strong technical and leadership skills, passionate for challenges and want to contribute to the success of the Bank.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • Contribute to platform transformation initiatives by researching and recommending new technologies and tools that support business needs.
  • Support the design, architecture and implementation of effective solutions that resolve complex business problems and support business requirements. Take responsibility for delivery according to pre-agreed timelines and technical specifications.
  • Ensure delivery meets integrity, quality, performance, and reliability requirements by building automated testing and regression suites using DevOps principles.
  • Research, evaluate and implement modern technologies and practices to reduce operational costs and improve security, availability, and reliability of business systems.
  • Contribute to a customer-focused, high-performing culture in an inclusive work environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders, communicating technical concepts clearly and supporting consensus around technical solutions.
  • Take ownership of assigned system components and develop expertise in specific technical domains.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • 3-5 years of experience working with microservice architecture applications.
  • 3-6 years of experience working with Java 8+ and Java frameworks (Spring experience preferred).
  • Solid backend STP (Straight Through Processing) experience is essential.
  • UI development experience using Angular/React is a plus.
  • 2+ years of code review and architecture exposure.
  • Experience or strong interest in Capital Markets and Trading Systems.
  • Familiarity with MarkitWire electronic confirmation platform for trade matching and settlement, and/or ICE platforms for fixed income pricing and market data is a plus.
  • Experience in monitoring applications and understanding system performance.
  • Familiarity with messaging systems like IBM MQ, Kafka, Redis.
  • Experience working with high availability and low latency systems.
  • Experience with RDBMS systems (MS SQL, Sybase, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker, Linux/Unix environments and scripting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies.
