Reporting to the Site Quality Manager, the successful candidate assists and supports others in a department, subdivision, function, or project. The position relies primarily on established policies, procedures, and applicable work practices to make decisions as they apply to the job duties and responsibilities.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The successful candidate reports to the Site Quality Manager or supervisor and provides inspection services to support the site quality program on projects. The purpose of this position is to perform the essential job duties and functions listed below with the overall objective of providing our clients and Fluor with projects that comply with the quality requirements stipulated in our prime contracts. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Review and become familiar with the project technical requirements such as the prime contract, applicable codes, standards, and specifications
• Monitor/inspect project and construction execution by regular surveillance and/or inspection as directed by the Site Quality Manager or supervisor to ensure that they comply with project requirements; issue surveillance or inspection reports to appropriate parties and follow up until closure as required
• Provide support to quality inspection and testing personnel concerning work assignments
• Evaluate inspector performance and conduct inspector training
• Direct and monitor the application of Quality manpower to ensure that Quality inspection and testing commitments are met
• Participate, when requested by the Site Quality Manager or supervisor, with the identification of nonconforming conditions and document them on nonconformance reports
• Support coordination with Construction Engineering to initiate timely analysis and resolution of identified discrepancies
• Submit statistical information to Site Quality Manager or supervisor for weekly or monthly reporting purposes
• Attend weekly meetings, as required by the Site Quality Manager, with contractors to go over any quality issues
• Review non-destructive evaluation results to verify compliance with contractual requirements (this may be delegated to a suitably qualified Fluor Construction Quality person)
• Ensure that documentation is being completed, signed off, and compiled as the work progresses so as to support turnover and record retention activities at the project site
• Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards
• Plan, organize, and carry out assignments as directed
• Adhere to and support Fluor’s Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies
• Effectively develop and apply the Core Skills to the job
• Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality
• Act as a qualified Auditor to perform and report quality audits of a variety of construction activities
• Perform physical inspection of a variety of discipline activities which may include but not limited to: welding, piping, civil, concrete, buildings, fixed and rotating equipment, electrical, control systems, coatings, insulation, and non-destructive testing
• Other duties as assigned
