A day in the life:

  • Preparation of geological models
  • Estimation of Mineral resources
  • Conduct site investigations for projects
  • Conduct audits and quality assurance and quality control reviews
  • Contribute to and review technical reports
  • Assist in the preparation of scope of services for geology and mining studies (PEA, PFS, FS)
  • Promote the company and attract new business
  • Travel to various client sites, attend project meetings and conduct field reviews, typically on short notice
  • Other duties as required
  • You will always ensure health and safety policies are followed at all sites and take WSP's Life Saving rules to heart;

We'd love to hear from you if you have ...

  • Bachelor Degree in geology from a recognized university and/or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 10+ years of resource estimation experience in a variety of commodities and deposit types, preferably within a consulting environment
  • Registered as a Professional Geologist in Canada or equivalent
  • Familiar with international and public disclosure and reporting codes, including NI 43-101, JORC, SAMREC, SME Guide, Competent Persons Reports, Mineral Resource Reports, etc.
  • Skills in geostatistics and resources estimation
  • Knowledge of mining fundamentals and techniques, rock mechanics, and mineral processing
  • Excellent knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of 3D modelling software, mapping & geological database software: Datamine, Surpac, Minsight, Vulcan, Leapfrog Geo or Isatis
  • Knowledge and experience with scripts and macros
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues and clients in a professional and technical manner
  • Flexibility to travel as required for project work
  • Fluent in the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work and complete tasks with limited supervision, make informed decisions and take responsibility for technical matters
  • Possess a team player attitude and be able to work in a project team environment
