Senior Accountant
Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Type: Full-Time | Permanent | Hybrid Work Arrangement (3 days onsite, 2 work from home)
Compensation: $70,000–$90,000 annually (commensurate based on experience and education)
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Edmonton, Alberta. This role plays a key part in supporting financial operations across the Americas region, with a focus on maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the month-end close process.
You’ll collaborate closely with internal departments including payroll, tax, and operations, as well as global colleagues, to ensure financial integrity and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support monthly financial close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
Ensure accurate revenue and expense recognition in line with US/CAD GAAP and IFRS.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including intercompany transactions and fixed assets.
Assist with inventory tracking, payroll processing, and warranty file maintenance.
Manage full-cycle accounts payable and receivable processes.
Prepare cash flow forecasts, bank reconciliations, and support credit control efforts.
Collaborate with the tax team on compliance and reporting matters.
Contribute to internal and external audit processes.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and workflow optimization.
Uphold internal controls and ensure adherence to corporate accounting policies.
What You Bring
Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, highly preferred to come from a manufacturing or shared services environment.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or an Accounting Diploma) with the additional relevant experience as above.
CPA or CMA designation (or in progress) an asset.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational abilities.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
Experience working with cross-functional teams and a solid understanding of financial controls.
