The Safety Advisor will be accountable to work closely with the project and subcontracted employees to ensure compliance with regulations, safe work practices and procedures. Position will be responsible for safety and emergency response, reporting to the Canadian Safety Lead.
• Position will be a salaried position working on a rotational basis. Extended hours may be required on occasion. Must be flexible to work on a team rotational schedule
• Work in a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the safe execution of construction activities through safe work planning, rescue plans, inspections, and audits
• Provide incident response and investigation to determine root cause and corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with legislation, site policies, and standard operating procedures
• Prepare Job Hazard Analysis, and other work place plans such as emergency response plans, fall protection, traffic control, permit to work
• Mediate health and safety issues to resolution
• Inspect project work areas and recommend corrective action
• Promote a safe and inclusive culture
• Participates in the development of standards, procedures, practices and provides in-field coaching and training to personnel
• Participates in toolbox meetings, safety meetings, pre-activity meetings, incident reviews, and emergency response exercises
• May perform other duties as assigned
