Adecco is currently recruiting for a Proctor for our client located in Dartmouth, NS. This is a short-term contract, to provide oversight on the following days:

  • December 2nd from 8:00-16:30 (4:30pm)

  • December 4th from 8:00-16:30 (4:30pm)

  • December 12th from 8:00-16:30 (4:30pm)

The Proctor will have the following responsibilities:

  • Ensure the exam center has all the necessary equipment and materials prior to the start of the examination

  • Arrange the exam room to accommodate the sitting of examinations

  • Launch/install the Locked Down Browser (training will be provided)

  • Verify exam candidates are attending the correct examination sitting

  • Check exam candidate government-issued photo identification

  • Work with other proctors to ensure a safe, quiet and professional exam writing experience

  • Supervise exam candidates in the exam room during the examination

  • Check for possible breaches of the examination rules by checking the washrooms and patrolling the exam room

  • Follow the outlined procedures if a breach of regulations is identified

  • Work with support to troubleshoot any issues with the computers or the internet connection

  • Submit an examination sitting report at the end of each examination sitting

  • Log out of the Locked Down Browser at the end of each examination sitting

  • Re-arrange the exam room desks and chairs to their original configuration at the end of the exam day

  • Pack up the computers and ensure that they are secure at the end of the exam day

  • Discard or retain and report appropriately any items left behind in the exam room

The Proctor must meet the following mandatory requirements:

  • Have physical strength to carry heavy equipment/furniture (up to 20 lb. objects)

  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills to troubleshoot and write reports on issues/concerns arising during the examinations

  • Have previous proctor experience, customer service experience and/or strong interpersonal skills

  • Be assertive and have the ability to uphold and enforce the Institute’s rules and regulations

  • Be comfortable spending periods of time standing or walking around the exam room
