Purpose


Contributes to the overall success of the Managed Portfolio Program / Investment & Advisory Solutions / Scotia Wealth Management in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

 

Accountabilities 

 

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day operations by reviewing Investment Policy Statements (IPS) ensuring KYC and program suitability.
  • Manage compliance to program policies by organizing the communication and tracking of all IPS violations until closure.
  • Act as main point of contact for all administrative requests for MPP, including policy clarification, general program information and rejected account information.
  • Conduct appropriate inquiries and investigations and ensures that appropriate corrective actions and/or risk mitigation actions are implemented in a timely manner or escalated.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. 
  • Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.  

 

 

Education / Experience / Other Information

 

  • Post-secondary degree.
  • CFA level 1 is preferred.
  • Experience working effectively with Advisors.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Excel VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) preferred.
