What is the opportunity?

The Ascendant Wealth Partners (AWP) team is a Toronto-based boutique investment management firm within RBC Dominion Securities that is committed to a holistic approach, integrating financial, tax, and legal considerations with a focus on client service. This high performing Advisory Team consists of 30 professionals, including 6 Partners, and is entrusted with managing over $7.5 Billion of capital offering unbiased, personalized advice to families and institutions.

We are seeking an exceptional and strategically-minded Marketing Strategy Lead to shape the execution of our marketing strategy, strengthen our brand, and drive business growth.

The Marketing Strategy Lead will be a key member of the AWP team and they will manage all marketing and communication activities to support the firm's business objectives and build brand awareness.

What will you do?

  • Help develop, articulate, and implement a comprehensive, long-term marketing strategy that aligns with the team’s overarching business goals.
  •  Define and amplify the firm’s brand messaging, ensuring consistency and integrity across all digital media channels. Articulate how our unique value proposition and mission set us apart from our competitors.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across digital, content, social media, and traditional web channels.
  • Lead and coordinate logistics of AWP in-person and virtual events, including pre/post-event timelines and milestones, KPI metrics and evaluation summary.
  • Drive multi-channel demand generation campaigns to attract and retain institutional and high-net-worth clients.
  •  With the help of the AWP Partners, lead the distribution efforts of relevant investment and wealth planning content, such as market commentary, portfolio insights, and case studies, to position the team as an industry expert.
  •  Alongside other members of the AWP Marketing Committee, foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Work closely with branch management and RBC marketing team to ensure all marketing and communications is approved from a compliance perspective.
  •  Develop and manage the marketing budget, allocating resources effectively to maximize ROI and achieve both marketing and business development objectives.
  •  Utilize data analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor, measure, and report on the effectiveness of all marketing activities.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business Administration is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing, preferably within the financial services or asset management industry.
  • Expertise in digital marketing, including SEO, content marketing, social media strategy, and CRM platforms.
  • A high-level understanding of the investment landscape, including various asset classes (e.g., equities, fixed income, alternatives) and client segments (e.g., institutional and high-net-worth) is considered an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  •  A strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to translate business goals into innovative marketing strategies.

Nice-to-have

  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct & Practices Handbook (CPH)
  • Knowledge of RBC Dominion Securities’ systems and procedures
  • Experience in the securities industry is an asset
