We have an exciting opportunity for a Market Analyst supporting the Buildings Business Operating Unit (BOU). In this role you will support Stantec’s strategic and business development activities with intelligence on markets, clients, and competitors. This role reports to the Team Lead for Market Research & Intelligence.

Stantec offers a flexible hybrid work environment, and we are open for this role to be based out of any US or Canada location.

Your Key Responsibilities

For the programs, systems, and BOU that you are engaged with:

• Providing market research as needed applicable to the Buildings industry to understand existing and potential markets, clients, and competitors
• Analyzing information on key clients, strategic pursuits, corporate campaigns, and competitors, to ensure account management teams are prepared for and understand the client needs, project details, and the competitive situation
• Supporting business planning market research in partnership with sector marketing managers for Stantec’s Buildings sectors
• Engaging with marketing managers regularly to identify needs and information gaps, and proposing solutions to address them
• Developing knowledge on trends in current and emerging markets and their impact on Stantec
• Understanding the use of applicable internal and external sources
• Advocating for and performing market research and intelligence best practices
• Translating data into meaningful information through reports and presentations

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to create recommendations from the data provided
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Power BI
• Detail-oriented and organized, with exceptional prioritization skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively within a group, as well as independently
• Comfortable working assertively in a deadline-driven environment
• Experience presenting to end-users

Education and Experience

• Post-secondary degree in Business, Management, Economics, Information Sciences, or a related area
• Minimum of five years of experience in market analysis field
• AEC industry experience preferred (but not mandatory)
