Reporting to the Head of Social Impact and Inclusion, you will be in charge of enhancing Ivanhoé Cambridge’s corporate ESG initiatives.
The duties associated with this position include the following:
ESG education and training:
Serve as the ambassador for initiatives intended to raise awareness with regard to sustainable investments;
Oversee efforts and projects designed to increase the internal visibility of the Company’s ESG initiatives;
Use training, information and other tools to help improve employees’ understanding of and proficiency in sustainable investments and ESG;
Develop, implement and facilitate an internal forum that allows employees around the world to discuss and share ESG best practices;
Community partnerships:
Define and structure a vision for Ivanhoé Cambridge’s involvement with various associations, community organizations and institutions (CREW, Pride at Work Canada, universities, etc.), working with key internal stakeholders and making sure this vision is consistent with the Company’s CSR principles;
Ensure that Ivanhoé Cambridge’s interests are served and represented through these community partnerships;
Contribute to setting up procedures and policies for Ivanhoé Cambridge’s community investments in Quebec and elsewhere, in collaboration with the Head of Social Impact and Inclusion and other internal stakeholders;
Promotion of ESG initiatives:
Serve as the content expert for the Sustainable Investments team and, working with the Public Affairs and Communications team, advise Ivanhoé Cambridge leaders on how to address and bring attention to sustainable investment matters during external speaking engagements;
Contribute to achieving certifications and rankings related to sustainable investment;
Be the point person for certification procedures;
Integration of ESG factors into our operations:
Support the integration of ESG factors across the organization (Finance, IT, HR, Procurement, Communications, etc.);
Stay current on best practices in the industry and update internal practices accordingly;
Spearhead or contribute to other projects to boost the Company’s ESG efforts and impact;
Additional responsibilities:
Support the ongoing development of Ivanhoé Cambridge’s sustainable investment strategy and the execution of the corresponding action plan;
Ensure various internal initiatives are consistent and aligned with one another;
Contribute to monitoring the sustainable investment performance of the Ivanhoé Cambridge portfolio;
Represent Ivanhoé Cambridge at events and participate in sector-specific working groups.
The skills of success
University degree from a recognized institution in sustainable development, social sciences, environmental sciences or another relevant field;
Seven to 12 years of experience in a position related to sustainable development, community philanthropy and/or communications;
Advanced understanding of and proficiency in electronic tools such as PowerPoint and Excel;
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on quality and performance;
Capacity to make decisions and establish guidelines quickly and effectively;
Proven ability to manage a team and resources indirectly or as part of a matrix structure;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
Ability to work closely with internal and external stakeholders;
Strong computer skills, in particular with Microsoft Office collaborative tools;
Fluency in French and English. Oral and/or written interactions with external partners based outside Quebec (service providers, law firms, peers, bankers, brokerage firms, credit analysis firms, credit agencies, etc.).
