What you will do:

Summary

The Manager of Culinary reports to the Executive Director of Culinary in developing and deploying culinary strategy within Cineplex and managing the financial performance of the programs and the feedback from the National Operations partners. The role will oversee the planning, evaluation and monitoring of culinary and financial areas with multiple locations to maximize sales and profitability. The role will work to ensure Cineplex culinary policies, procedures and standards are created, shared, adopted and coordinated with National Operations. The Culinary Manager role will provide coaching and feedback to various partners in the organization to develop the culinary program at Cineplex and promote the adherence to policies and processes. The role will be directly involved in the opening of new locations and share their strong working knowledge of diverse culinary operations and proven successes through active training of the local teams. The role is responsible for creating the content/programs that with National Operations will drive culinary focus, increase brand reputation, ensure consistent achievement of execution excellence and the profitability in the culinary operations.

This is a hybrid position. Office location is 1303 Yonge St., Toronto.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create menus, build guides and training materials to assist National Operations execution of the culinary programs

  • Recognize and modify procedures for efficiency and profitability

  • Support the development and implementation of Back of House operating systems for restaurant, bar, QSR and Groups and Events

  • Evaluate practices and procedures on an ongoing basis and provide recommendations to optimize for the changing business needs

  • Plan evaluate and monitor culinary programs and financial areas within multiple units to maximize sales and profitability.

  • Additional accountability not listed currently and/or changes to current accountabilities as determined by Cineplex and their business needs

What You Will Need:

  • University or college completion in culinary arts, hospitality, or a related discipline
  • Food Safety Certification
  • Experience creating and/or deploying successful culinary programs with positive and profitable margins in a multi-unit/high-volume venue
  • 5-10 years of experience as a Chef of a high-volume restaurant with over 6 M in sales
  • 3 years multi-unit Chef experience
  • Highly motivated and energetic, with hands-on leadership
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent presentation skills and able to speak to small or large groups
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and the use of those tools to create materials for others
