We are looking for a Manager, Intake and Early Resolution in our Human Rights & Investigations Department to join our Team!
What You Will Do
Reporting to the Director of Human Rights & Investigations, you will oversee the day-to-day guidance and assistance being provided to all levels of TTC management, staff, and unionized employees on a wide variety of human rights, accommodation, accessibility, and workplace violence related issues. As Manager, Intake and Early Resolution, you will investigate, analyze, and resolve the more complex complaints, mediations, and applications regarding alleged contraventions and/or violations of human rights-related policies, regulations, acts, and other legislation. You will develop and deliver various education/training programs, and oversee a team's daily activities, supervising and evaluating their performance.
- You will plan, coordinate, supervise, and direct work or processes within area of responsibility to ensure effective, timely resolutions.
- Provide education through training programs or learning sessions to educate clients or staff.
- You will provide support and assistance to internal and/or external parties with regard to area of responsibility.
- Identify, develop, and implement dispute resolution strategies in response to mediations, arbitrations, and/or other issues.
- Provide information and/or advice with regard to area of expertise and responsibility based on collected data.
- You will establish a working relationship, typically in order to cooperate on matters of mutual concern.
- Record and document key information within area of responsibility (workforce reports, analyses, statistics, etc.) and provide to related parties or store appropriately.
- Develop standards for and measure performance of staff as required for the role.
- Promote a respectful work and service environment that supports diversity, inclusion, and is free from harassment and discrimination. Provide leadership in the development and implementation of inclusive and accessible policies, programs and/or services for employees and customers in accordance with TTC’s commitments and obligations under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and Related Orders, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), and TTC’s policies.

What Qualifications Do You Bring?
- Your educational background will include completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent is integral and will contribute to the success in this role.
- Your application will demonstrate knowledge and ability to interpret and apply the Ontario Human Rights Code, the Anti-Racism Act, the Community Safety and Policing Act, the Criminal Code of Canada, the Mental Health Act, the Provincial Offences Act, the Liquor License Act, Trespass to Property Act, TTC By-law #1, the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario procedures, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and other relevant federal, provincial and municipal legislation combined with a strong knowledge of equity principles and jurisprudence related to human rights, diversity and inclusion issues.
- Your experience leading a team in a high paced environment is required.
- Proven ability to apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills is required.
- Your ability to demonstrate specialized expertise and knowledge in the assigned field is required.
