What you’ll get to do
The Lead Business Analyst is a professional role within IMIT that offers information management and information technology planning, business analysis, project management, implementation support, and client services for various BC Assessment (BCA) program areas. This position is centered on delivering business analyst expertise for the organization’s cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, Workday, along with Information Technology Service Management (ITSM). As a Lead Business Analyst, you would also:
Provide consultation and advice to management on business solution approaches, risks, efficiencies, and costs for important corporate initiatives.
Lead the planning and management of multiple systems projects, defining objectives, priorities, timelines, and resource requirements.
Conduct high-level analysis of program/systems solutions, developing new concepts and consulting with internal and external systems professionals.
Ensure standardized methods and procedures are used for handling changes to IMIT services for efficient and timely updates.
Plan, organize, and manage resources to ensure successful completion of IMIT projects, goals, and objectives.
Initiate and oversee business needs assessments, data collection, and analyzes options, risks, cost benefits, and support requirements.
Ensure client requirements and priorities are understood and met throughout the systems development life cycle.
Lead the preparation of detailed business cases and project feasibility studies, providing recommendations for approval through leadership.
Develop, negotiate, deliver, and monitor agreements on services, priorities, responsibilities, and performance levels.
Identify, assess, and manage risk while striving to attain project objectives.
This position is included in the bargaining unit.
Location: Victoria, BC
Compensation: $85,104.95 - $100,033.18* (plus 2.52% Temporary Market Adjustment)
Competition Close Date: Tuesday, December 30th @ 11:59PM (PST)
*The compensation range above is based on the salary schedule outlined in the CUPE 1767 Collective Agreement. Successful candidates typically start at the minimum of the range (Step 1), with the opportunity to receive an increment after 12 months of service.
What you bring to the team
Education
University degree in computer science, systems business analysis, information management, software engineering, or equivalent. University degree in business administration or finance (plus related IM/IT courses) will be considered.
Completion of BA certificate in Business Analysis or equivalent certificate.
Completion of PM certificate or certified Project Management Professional would be an asset.
Experience
Four years recent, related work experience in all phases of project development life cycle
Directly related work experience includes being responsible for the setting of priorities, and management of IT system deliverables.
Experience in business and technology planning, and complex (multi-faceted, multi-stakeholder) project management in a public sector environment is preferred.
Property assessment/appraisal, facilitating to groups of people, developing test strategies and test designs, and applying adult learning methodologies and developing training/educational materials is preferred.
Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
