Adecco is seeking an experienced International Senior Buyer on behalf of our client in Richmond, BC. This is a strategic leadership role focused on managing global supplier relationships, optimizing procurement strategies, and ensuring a steady, cost-effective supply of commodity panels and board products for the Canadian market.

  • Pay Rate: $120k-$125k/year.
  • Location: Richmond, BC
  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time
Responsibilities:  
  • Lead the end-to-end process of international purchasing, including sourcing, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and logistics coordination.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships across Asia, Brazil, and other key global markets.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to track global trends, pricing, and supply risks.
  • Negotiate competitive pricing and contract terms while maintaining high product quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including product management, sales, and operations — to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, improve margins, and enhance procurement efficiency.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement in quality and delivery standards.
  • Support forecasting, budgeting, and supply planning to ensure consistent inventory availability.
  • Represent the company in supplier meetings and trade events to strengthen partnerships and market intelligence.
  • Contribute to long-term procurement strategies that support organizational growth and sustainability goals.
Requirements:  
  • Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
  • Minimum 10 years of international buying or commodity sourcing experience, preferably within panels, wood products, or construction materials.
  • Proven expertise in supplier negotiation, contract management, and building long-term vendor relationships.
  • Strong understanding of global market dynamics, pricing trends, and cost analysis.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving measurable business results and improving profitability.
  • Experience sourcing from Asia and Latin America is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance cost, quality, and supply continuity.
  • Highly organized, results-driven, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset.
  • Based in British Columbia or open to relocation.
