What you will do

Our Halifax and St. John’s offices are seeking undergraduate business, commerce and accounting and finance students who may be pursuing their Canadian CPA or CIA designation to join the team as a Co-op or Intern hire in Summer 2026 as a part of our Risk Services practice. 
 
Our Risk Services Team: Governance, Risk and Compliance Services (GRCS) 
 
As part of KPMG’s Governance, Risk & Compliance Services team, you will be working with professionals experienced in financial and operational internal auditing, internal controls, risk based analytics, risk assessments, IT risk, and emerging risk areas to augment and enhance an organization's existing internal control, enterprise risk management, governance, and internal audit capabilities.   
  
You will be working alongside executives, internal audit directors, and audit and risk committees to develop and deliver quality governance functions that deliver strategic business assurance, identify business opportunities and enhance organizational value. 
 

  • You will be joining an experienced team and will assist the project team with GRCS mandates including internal audit, internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR – 52-109/SOX 404), risk management, and other risk and compliance projects 
  • You will be working with a team carrying our client engagements related across a variety of clients in different industries. 
  • You will demonstrate your proven communication skills by providing your business expertise through conversations, email and detailed summaries and reports 
  • You will enjoy a variety of projects assisting organizations that include conducting client interviews and walkthroughs, reviewing and analyzing documents and data, conducting research and benchmarking, and facilitating workshops 
  • You will make a difference with your contributions to other practice initiatives through knowledge sharing, HR initiatives and practice management opportunities  
  • You will have the opportunity to participate in the development of client engagement plans and other deliverables, including process and control documentation, reports and presentations, while helping to manage expectations of multiple stakeholders
