Adecco is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer to join our client’s expanding team in Sudbury, ON. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and offers the chance to work on diverse and challenging projects across Northern Ontario. The successful candidate will contribute to all phases of geotechnical engineering, from field investigations to design and reporting, while collaborating with a dynamic team. This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $100,000 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth.

Responsibilities:  
  • Leading field investigations from planning through to the preparation of detailed geotechnical reports and offering expert advice during construction phases.
  • Conducting soil mechanics analyses and designing foundations including shallow, raft (mat), pile foundations, and retaining structures.
  • Reviewing and approving geotechnical design recommendations based on field and laboratory data.
  • Coordinating and supervising projects such as geotechnical drilling, slope stability assessments, and settlement analyses.
  • Providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior and intermediate engineers, as well as designers.
  • Preparing clear, comprehensive proposals, technical memoranda, and client reports.
  • Ensuring all work complies with provincial and federal regulations.
  • Managing multiple projects independently or collaboratively, maintaining timelines and budgets.
  • Supporting client relationship development and maintaining strong communication throughout projects.
Requirements:  
  • Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) license in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario.
  • At least 5 years of post-licensure experience, preferably in a consulting engineering environment.
  • Practical experience in geotechnical drilling, slope stability, and settlement analysis is highly desirable.
  • Strong technical skills in soil mechanics, foundation design, and field instrumentation methods.
  • Proven ability to write technical and non-technical reports, proposals, and case studies clearly and effectively.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant regulations and standards governing geotechnical practice in Canada.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach to engineering challenges.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines.
  • Comfortable working both in the office and on-site in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle.
