The Field Technical Designer is part of a site based technical team which supports the construction and pre-Commissioning of a new plant in accordance with the Contract, Canadian Regulations, and Engineering and Geosciences Guidelines of British Columbia (EGBC) guidelines. This position is site based and the candidate must be willing and able to travel to and from and stay at the worksite in north-western BC on a 14 day on / 7 day off rotation. Air travel and camp style accommodations are provided by the Company.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The Field Technical Drafter functions as a part of the field technical team and performs the following primary duties:
1. Completes design and drafting work to support design changes with oversight by the field engineers. This will include:
• Marking up existing drawings to show redline changes
• Preparing revisions to existing design drawings
• Creating new drawings and sketches
• Completing design studies, such as overlaying multiple design files to aid in field routing, identifying clashes, and communicating layout to construction personnel.
• Prepare redline drawings based on asbuilt survey information and field mark-ups.
• Modeling in Smart Plant 3D
2. Coordinates requests for information (RFI) from contractors to obtain responses from the technical team members. This will include:
• Receiving RFIs and distributing to team members.
• Following up with team members to respond to RFIs and obtaining approval to RFI’s.
• Preparing and issuing weekly RFI summary reports
