A day in the life:

  • You will be participating in a team environment, working closely with Project coordinators, other Project Managers, Senior Project Directors/Technical Leads and Field Technicians/Scientists/Engineers;
  • You’ll be managing relationships with internal and external clients and ensuring that their needs are understood and met, providing your guidance and expertise;
  • You will be responsible for Project’s HSSE, which includes working with clients on field requirements, review of HSSE field documentation, attendance at pre- and post-field meetings, site visits, etc.;
  • You will control and monitor the progress of projects with respect to scope, schedule, budget, quality, etc. and implement change as appropriate;
  • You will be delegating and directing work to junior staff working on your projects and will be responsible for their utilization and training;
  • You will be planning, coordinating and executing mandates related to environmental impact studies, other forms of environmental assessments and environmental screenings, environmental permitting and authorisations;
  • You will evaluate Requests for Proposals and prepare responses, develop work scopes, budgets and schedules, as well as act as a proposal manager;
  • You will provide senior review of various deliverables completed by the coordinators or technical teams prior to client submission;
  • You will be responsible for Sharepoint and file management, and quality control of documentation and systems.

 

What you'll bring to WSP ...

  • University or equivalent Degree in Environmental Management, Ecology, Engineering or related natural/earth sciences;
  • 8+ years of relevant consulting experience;
  • Valid PMP certification is preferred. Willingness/ability to get it if not currently available is required;
  • Status as an environmental professional (R.P.Bio., P.Biol, P.Ag.) and/or eligibility for accreditation through a similar professional organization is not required but would be an asset;
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to build a team and maintain strong working relationships;
  • Sound understanding of the need for health and safety procedures in the workplace/possess a safety conscious attitude;
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn;
  • A proven track record of completing projects on time and on budget with a high degree of client satisfaction.
