Adecco is actively seeking an Electrical Engineering Lead – Power Distribution to join our client’s high-performing engineering team in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Discipline Lead, this role oversees electrical design and power distribution engineering across complex oil and gas projects from concept to completion. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, guide junior staff, and ensure all project deliverables meet safety, quality and regulatory standards.
- Pay Rate: $130k-$170k/year.

- Lead electrical design for oil & gas facilities from concept to construction.
- Develop design criteria, drawings, specifications, bills of material, and work packages.
- Perform advanced calculations: load flow, voltage drop, cable sizing, EHT, and demand load studies.
- Review and approve ETAP/SKM models, vendor/subcontractor drawings, and technical documentation.
- Supervise electrical design activities for multiple complex units.
- Provide construction support and participate in site visits as needed.
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work for accuracy.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (process, mechanical, civil/structural, instrumentation, piping).
- Manage equipment requisitions: motors, MCC, switchgear, VFDs, UPS, EHT panels, e-houses.
- Ensure compliance with CEC, international codes, safety standards, and project specifications.
- Contribute to cost estimating, proposals, and project schedules.
- Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or Applied Science.
- 7+ years of facilities engineering/design experience in oil & gas; 10+ years preferred, including 5+ years in thermal heavy oil.
- Registered P.Eng. with APEGA.
- Strong knowledge of electrical drawings, SLDs, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and EHT isometrics.
- Proficient in ETAP or SKM modeling and advanced electrical calculations.
- Experienced with procurement of electrical equipment (motors, MCC, switchgear, VFDs, UPS, EHT panels).
- Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and industry standards.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team coordination skills.
- Excellent written/oral communication and time management.
- Able to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
