POSITION SUMMARY
The Director, Strategy Management Office is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the development, execution, and monitoring of corporate strategy. He/She/They oversees development of corporate strategies and corporate performance reporting. The position oversees strategic planning, tactical business planning, strategic business case development, and performance reporting for a variety of stakeholders including the Executive Committee, Board of Commissioners, Ministry of Housing and Ministry of Finance. The Director provides critical contributions to the enterprise transformation as a trusted advisor to the Executive Committee.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The successful candidate will have the following:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration or a related field
- Significant experience in strategy development, business planning and corporate performance reporting
- Considerable experience working with Boards and senior leadership teams, preparing strategic plans, annual reports, and
other corporate strategic documents - Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the Employer
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of concepts and emerging trends in strategic planning, performance reporting and
corporate governance - Ability to learn and understand the legislation, organization, strategic direction, policies, and programs of BC Housing
- Ability to provide leadership and direction, exercise sound judgement, and demonstrate tact and diplomacy in addressing
high profile, sensitive, and urgent matters - Ability to establish a high level of rapport with senior management, Executives, the Board, various Ministries, and other
relevant internal and external stakeholders - Ability to excel in working under pressure to meet deadlines and changing priorities
- Ability to lead, coach, and motivate staff in a team environment
- Effective consultative, facilitation, consensus building, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving, decision-making, organizational and time management skills
- Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills
