JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Media Strategy, the incumbent provides digital marketing expertise with a strong focus on social media, content development and paid digital campaigns.
The incumbent will have a primary focus on supporting recruitment efforts to reach key audiences through digital and social media marketing recommendations, including the development, implementation and analysis of campaigns.
This position is a leader in the development of Mohawk College’s social media communities by contributing content, engaging with followers, and identifying new opportunities to ensure platform growth.
The incumbent is an innovator and passionate about digital marketing, eager to identify and implement trends to optimize campaigns and provide direction across all platforms. This position will also be expected to develop and maintain strong relationships with their client groups.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties of this position will include, but are not limited to the following:
Marketing
Strategy
- Assist in the development of campaigns that align with the college’s strategy to support recruitment activities.
- Request and analyze internal research and apply it to the strategic development of campaigns.
- Develop media plans, coordinate contracts and work with designers to develop advertising creative.
Advertising
- Develop campaigns with distinct calls-to-action that are integrated with website content, making recommendations to landing pages where required.
- Develop media plans, coordinate media contracts and work with designers to develop advertising creative to promote Mohawk programs.
- Working closely with the recruitment team and client groups to identify and market pathways into Mohawk.
- Assist with the creation, development and implementation of print advertising, marketing materials, and digital assets (i.e. display advertising, copywriting, landing pages).
- Collaborate with the creative and marketing team to ensure consistency across marketing messages.
Digital Marketing
- Create campaigns with distinct calls-to-action integrated with website content.
- Assist with the creation, development and implementation of digital marketing campaigns, including, but not limited to, identifying images, keywords, and copywriting.
- Analyze campaign data and internal reports to make recommendations to optimize and improve campaigns.
Social Media – Community Management
- Manage the flagship Mohawk College social media accounts, with a primary focus on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Business.
- Liaise with internal clients on the development, management and reporting of paid social media initiatives.
- Identify social media marketing strategies based upon ever changing best practices, and in accordance with management guidelines and direction.
- Provide recommendations to clients based on college best practices for social media requests, for e.g. identify appropriate platform for posts or support in the development of social media accounts.
Analytics and Campaign Tracking
- Assist in the creation and analysis of reports using Google Analytics, social media platform management tools and native applications.
- Identify and manage campaign tracking, reporting, analysis and optimization of all digital and social media marketing.
Digital Content Development
Creative Thinking
- Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of relevant content for use across all college digital platforms.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop content to assist college in recruitment activities, for example webinars and livestreaming.
Photography/Video
- Collaborate with creative team to manage edits to images and videos where required for use on social media and other digital platforms.
Copywriting
- Develop and edit marketing copy related to recruitment collateral, emails, social media posts, and advertising (digital and print).
- Ensure marketing messages align across all advertising platforms.
- Collaborate with various internal departments to provide content where required.
Email Marketing/Lead Generation
- Assist in the development of an email marketing strategy and best practices.
- Liaise with recruitment team on the use of CRM and integrate with email marketing efforts.
- Identify opportunities to build email automation campaigns with CRM and email marketing software.
- Collaborate with creative team to develop email templates.
- Working closely with registrar’s office, request customer lists and identify opportunities to further segment data.
- Assist in the development of email conversion strategy during key enrolment periods (for e.g. offer confirmation to paid).
- Assist in the development of content for email conversion (for e.g. webinars, lead generation).
- Provide recommendations on audience selection and segmentation based on data available.
- Assist with the management and development of college lead generation tools.
- Liaise with marketing, recruitment and student communication team on scheduling.
- Adhere to CASL and work with legal department where legislation is unclear.
- Develop and implement reporting structure for all emails.
Other duties as assigned, but not limited to:
- Assist with the identification of new tools and applications to assist department in effective delivery of marketing campaigns.
- Apply Mohawk Brand guidelines and policies to further the Mohawk brand in and around the online community.
- Promote and attend various Mohawk events including but not limited to open houses, special events etc. and assists with implementation where necessary.
- Act as a Mohawk College brand ambassador.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful applicant must have:
- A minimum of three year diploma/degree or certificate in marketing, public relations, advertising, social media, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Courses completed in Google Analytics and Salesforce Marketing or equivalent training in email marketing software
- A minimum of three years of hands-on experience in advertising strategy, email marketing, analytics and measurement.
- High degree of technical expertise in the use of website lead generation integrations with CRMs and email marketing applications
- Expertise in marketing copywriting and content development.
- Proven ability/experience to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Financial acumen.
- Experience in researching and recommending new technologies with forecasted and planned budget resources.
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity and inclusion with the ability to communicate and work effectively inter-culturally with diverse groups of students, employees and the community.
