Responsibilities:
Direct all day-to-day accounting and financial activities for four companies.
Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and consolidated financial reporting.
Ensure accurate job costing, WIP reporting, and margin analysis across projects.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with ASPE/GAAP.
Establish and maintain robust internal controls and policies to protect company assets.
Collaborate with external auditors and advisors (e.g., KPMG) and communicate complex financial insights to leadership.
Lead financing efforts for large-scale projects (up to $40M+).
Cultivate strong relationships with banks, investors, and bonding partners.
Develop and present financial packages for lenders and investors.
Oversee construction draws, financing arrangements, and investor reporting for new developments.
Partner with executives to drive business planning, growth strategies, and risk management.
Advise on corporate structuring for tax efficiency and operational effectiveness.
Manage intercompany transactions and financial consolidation across divisions.
Identify opportunities to improve profitability and implement scalable financial systems.
Lead and mentor accounting and finance teams, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
Evaluate team capacity and recommend staffing adjustments as needed.
Provide coaching and professional development opportunities for team members.
Collaborate with project managers to monitor costs, budgets, and profitability.
Deliver financial insights and scenario analyses for new projects and land acquisitions.
Forecast funding needs and advise leadership on capital deployment timing.
Maintain financial stability through proactive cash flow and risk management.
Qualifications:
Proven experience managing finances for organizations with $50M–$100M+ in revenue.
5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role (Controller, Director of Finance, or CFO).
CPA designation preferred (or equivalent senior-level experience).
Strong background in construction, development, or real estate.
Demonstrated success in funding, banking, and financial structuring.
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to balance hands-on financial oversight with strategic leadership.
Comfortable working in a collaborative, multicultural, family-style environment.
