Adecco is actively seeking an experienced Construction Specialist – Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) to support a major construction project in St. Thomas, ON. The MEP Specialist will oversee on-site MEP activities, ensure alignment with design specifications, resolve design conflicts, and support all phases of the project lifecycle—from planning to closeout. This is a full-time, high-impact role requiring strong technical expertise and hands-on project oversight.

- Pay Rate: $120k/year.

- Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
- Job type: 6-12-month contract with possibility of extension | Full-time
- Plan, direct, and manage all on-site mechanical and electrical activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
- Conduct detailed reviews of construction drawings, documentation, and BIM models to identify and resolve conflicts between architectural/structural components and MEP systems.
- Coordinate and validate drawings and technical documentation to streamline workflows and maintain project timelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to track schedules, manage RFIs, and oversee shop drawing reviews and approvals.
- Supervise on-site installation of mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to deadlines.
- Track and control material and labour costs for MEP components, generating accurate and timely reports.
- Support resource planning, procurement, and logistics for MEP materials and equipment.
- Identify project risks and implement corrective actions to prevent delays and budget overruns.
- Provide technical guidance during system testing and commissioning to ensure optimal performance.
- Lead project closeout, including inspections, documentation, handover, and compliance reporting.
- Prepare and submit detailed project reports, including progress updates, inspection records, and regulatory compliance documentation.
- Perform additional duties as required to support successful project execution.
- Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related construction field; equivalent technical training or certifications may be considered.
- P.Eng. or P.E. designation preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience managing complex projects within clean rooms, dry rooms, automotive, pharmaceutical, or advanced manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of project management processes, including scope development, tendering, contractor management, quality assurance, and closeout.
- Experience working within large, multidisciplinary project teams and participating actively in coordination meetings.
- Experience working on Design-Build projects.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
