DEPARTMENT:  BUSINESS SOLUTIONS

Responsible to the Manager, IT Business Solutions for understanding and managing the needs of our stakeholders, including management, customers, end-users, and vendors to support and leverage existing solutions or deliver new business solutions to achieve the desired results.

Design, develop, implement and monitor IT solutions that effectively and continuously meet business requirements.

Contribute to the preparation of Business Cases, Project Management Plans, estimates, risk assessments and other project management documents.  

Manage and resolve conflicts in the architecture and design of solutions with other elements of the system and business architecture, escalating issues when appropriate.    

Responsible for elicitation, analysis, and documentation of functional and non-functional requirements. Create and maintain User Stories or Business Requirements. 

Responsible for requirements and systems analysis, design and modeling, data design and modeling.  Working with the development team to ensure requirements are understood and delivered as expected.

Participate in vendor assessment and selection when researching new solutions that address business needs. Define configuration requirements, data mapping, and integration methods for vendor solutions.

Collaborate with stakeholders to assess and validate proposed solutions against requirements to ensure business needs are met.  Assist in creating and executing functional and non-function test plans.

Work with all stakeholders in the development and execution of implementation strategies and transition plans. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

University / College degree in Information Technology or Business, with minimum 3 years of related business and systems analysis experience.

Understanding of Information Technology concepts, standards, procedures, and policies, including in-depth knowledge of business process and information modeling and techniques.

Strong communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical team members.  Proven presentation and facilitation skills.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.

Strong understanding and passion for retail and digital technology.

Experience with waterfall and agile scrum project methodologies.

*May be required to work irregular hours to support the applications or to meet deadlines.

CONSIDERED AN ASSET:

Familiarity with Hardware / Lumber and Building Materials (LBM) Retail and Distribution processes.

ITIL V3.0 Working Knowledge.
