What is the opportunity?
The RBC Dominion Securities Branch located in Winnipeg is looking for a Branch Technology Specialist to join their team!
The Branch Technology Specialist (BTS) works closely with the branch management team and the branch advisor teams to support technology related needs. These support needs will likely include break/fix issues with technology or applications, installation or replacement of hardware or applications, coordination of training and support for application rollouts and more. As a key resource for the branch, the BTS should build relationships with the branch users, head office partners, branch management and the community of BTSs from across the country.
What will you do?
- Provide technology and hardware support to branch staff, ensure hardware in the branch (monitors, desktops/laptops, phones, printers, etc.) are kept in working condition and replaced when necessary.
- System Access: Manage & coordinate system access requests (new, change, remove), new employee onboarding, complete yearly control and application risk audit attestations.
- Support branch users with set up of VPN/Citrix/BYOD Mobility.
- Identify computer hardware, software and telecommunication malfunctions and take action to resolve issues.
- Identify any issues that are not technology related and engage the appropriate team.
- Responsible for branch technology initiatives, including coordinating rollout training schedules, promoting training sessions and national/regional training calls, hardware refresh, etc.
- Liaise with back office to investigate application and technical support issues, provide timely updates to users, following up until resolved, escalate when necessary. Support branch users with contacting the Helpdesk for issues, open tickets, follow up and possible escalation.
- Provide project leads in Business Initiatives with feedback on break/fix issues and data integrity issues.
- Proactive communication with branch staff to assess and support, including walking around to speak with branch staff in person. Participate in monthly technology conference calls and quarterly operation/admin meetings, sharing ideas and providing feedback.

- Ability to prioritize daily tasks, multi-task, and deal with a variety of personalities (internal & external)
- Ability to quickly shift priorities and deliver results
- A strong interest and understanding of IT
Nice-to-have
- Knowledge of RBC Dominion Securities’ systems and procedures, an asset
- Post-secondary degree/diploma
