The Role
The Assistant Manager is responsible for helping to drive an efficient and effective Regulatory Control function within Global Wholesale Operations with a focus on regulations including but not limited to CFTC, EMIR, SEC and MAS, valuation, and collateral management. The Assistant Manager will execute daily and periodic monitoring controls, resolve valuation/collateral disputes and help design end-to-end solutions for regulatory issues, gaps and process enhancements.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of a variety of regulations which include but are not limited to CFTC, EMIR and SEC including subject matter expertise of the derivative product life cycle, valuation, and collateral management.
- Execute daily and periodic monitoring controls relating to Delivery of Daily Marks, Valuation Reconciliation, Collateral Disputes, and similar controls.
- Manage the end-to-end resolution of valuation/collateral disputes observed with counterparties. Manage resolution through identification, investigation, escalation to resolution, recordkeeping, and management reporting.
- Provide support during management ad hoc requests, internal audit, or testing engagements, and assist with preparation for regulatory audits or queries.
- Liaise with Traders, Technology, Internal Control, Compliance, and other relevant stakeholders to identify, prioritize and solution regulatory issues, gaps, and enhancements with focus on automating manual processes. Responsibilities will include building business requirements, test scenarios, UAT, and providing process expertise.
- Assist with developing materials, such as committee presentations and incident reports. Support at least one oversight committee through co-ordination, preparing meeting agendas and producing minutes.
- Responsible for monitoring the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness regulatory reporting in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure accurate record keeping and retention.
- Contribute to maintenance of documentation of all processes and procedures relating to Reconciliation controls. .
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Business/ Finance degree or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in in a Capital Markets environment
- Solid understanding and familiarity with other areas of the Bank, including Technology, Risk Management, Compliance, Audit, etc.
- Strong MS Excel skills is required and PowerBI knowledge is seen a strong nice to have
- Strong relationship building competencies to build/maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders and members of the project team.
- Expert curiosity, analytic and problem-solving capability under time pressure
- Very good presentation and written communications skills
- Prior operations experience, or project experience in a management or business analyst (BA) role, would be an asset
