Purpose:
Contributes to the overall success of Post Settlements Investigations in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted follow governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
• Responsible for process and control oversight for completion of day-to-day activities. This includes but is not limited to investigation of daily/monthly/annual cash breaks, taking actions / sending correspondence to the relevant teams for corrective actions to resolve breaks.
• Solving problems of an unusual nature including identifying the cause and what is required to prevent recurrence
• Ability to analyze cross departmental processes which may have created the exception and understand action required to resolve
• Develop and maintain excellent working relations with all involved stakeholders - including but not limited to clients, counterparties, Sales and Trading, Product Control, Technology, other operations areas.
• Responsible for providing accurate and informative analysis to the management team as requested.
• Responsible for participating and delivering on projects as they relate to the overall Post Settlements Investigation team
• Consistently look for process improvements opportunities to maximize efficiencies. Performs other duties as assigned.
• Responsible for being the first point of contact for issues within Post Settlements Investigation team; leading by example, cross training new and junior staff, being a subject matter expert and assist in the oversight of the team as required.
• Develop a sound understanding of the products supported/settled. (Forex, FX Options, FX Commodity Options, FX Strip).
• Responsible for identifying and helping to mitigate any inherent operational risks as they relate to overall team. This includes, but is not limited to, cross-training and providing coverage on other settlement desks for vacations and unexpected absences; review, evaluate and implement new and existing procedures (SOPs).
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook, and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

• Support any requests for the development of audit and regulatory documentation which may be required on an ad-hoc basis
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
• University Bachelor's Degree
• Solid understanding of OTC Derivative products
• 3-5 years of experience working in Capital Market Operations
• Previous Settlement experience preferred
Work Arrangement:
• Hybrid work arrangement between core operational hours 8:30 am - 6:00 pm.
• Extended standard hours are a common occurrence during peak periods and for purpose of coverage.
• Coverage on Statutory holidays to support global operations.
