What we offer
As the Senior Architectural Technologist you will assist in providing architectural services to the company while striving to provide The Best Homeowner Experience. This involves creating and maintaining data base drawings as well as creating lot specifics plans for production and interacting with different areas of the business such as Marketing, Purchasing, Décor, and/or Construction to assess needs and provide any documentation. As well as assisting the Manager train, mentor and develop junior staff.
What you’ll do
- Ensure architectural controls are aligned and applied in the division as directed by corporate Architecture.
- Assist in the management, coaching, development and mentoring staff for exceptional performance and to help prepare them for future opportunities.
- Create and manage master plan Architectural drawings, and construction documentation.
- Assist Architectural Manager in development of drawing standards and build efficiencies into the plans.
- Prepare construction documents (Lot specific) for construction, internal staff and external consultants.
- Ability to do siting and grading independently and accurately.
- Conduct site visits to correct or improve information shown in the master plans drawings.
- Support in the achievement of departmental objectives by assisting departmental team members as directed by the Architectural Manager.
- Coordinate, review and revise architectural drawings to ensure that all documentation complies with Mattamy’s strict standards and ABC.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and quarterly reports outlining the estimated cost to complete each project.
- Participate in Value Engineering of new designs.
What you bring
- 5+ years of residential builder experience
- Diploma from an accredited Architectural Technologist or Certified Engineering Technologist program
- Strong understanding of AutoCAD (use of multiple X-refs, Layer management, files organization etc.)
- Basic to Intermediate understanding of Revit
- Organized and detail oriented
- Problem solving skills as it applies to construction detailing
- Proven ability to meet schedules
- Ability to work in a team environment under deadlines
- Understanding of the City of Calgary, City of Airdrie, City of Edmonton, and Strathcona County development permit and building permit process
