Job Description

What is the opportunity?

RBC Wealth Management is looking for a talented UX Designer Co-op Student with an interest in growing their skills to become a productive part of a creative team. You will follow UX best practices to shape the user experience from the earliest stages, ensuring the product will meet and exceed customer expectations. You will work closely with the product owner to translate the business requirements and customer needs into experiences that developers can execute on.

What will you do?

  • Assist and potentially lead the ideation and user experience design of complex web and mobile solutions
  • Create design assets including user journey maps, wireframes, process flows, interaction designs and interactive prototypes
  • Consult with business stakeholders, technology and users in decision making surrounding user flows, sitemaps, layout, styling and technical feasibility
  • Present wireframe mock-ups and proof of concepts to stakeholders to ensure their needs and expectations are met and sell the vision behind user experiences to key stakeholders

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • Creative and analytical design thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communicator (great verbal and written skills)
  • Comfortable gathering requirements
  • Motivated to maintain and contribute to UX standards
  • Proficient with Figma
  • Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on Human Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Digital Media, or equivalent

Nice to have

  • Financial industry knowledge or experience, specifically Wealth Management
  • Experience with note taking and/or facilitating usability tests
  • Experience organizing and/or facilitating Human Centered Design workshops

Please note: 

In order to be eligible for these student positions, you must either: 

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date; or 
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating immediately after the work term), you must require the full work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully
