What is the opportunity?
Group Risk Management(GRM) Policy, Process and Strategy team is responsible for providing oversight for multiple risk models and credit strategies, and we are looking for a motivated university student to contribute to our data analysis efforts. In this role, you will work closely with the members of GRM credit strategy team, as well as other business/product partners to learn and experience all facets of the model and credit strategy life cycle. You will learn about Risk Management within the context of strategic initiatives coming to life
What will you do?
- Build reports in support of credit risk issues and enhance monitoring framework
- Review reports, existing strategies and models, identify potential opportunities and concerning trends, and/or conduct deep dive analysis to drive actionable insights to improve strategy performance
- Work with partners to enhance visualization and automation for reporting needs. Utilize Python and data analysis libraries (Pands, Numpy, and many more), and/or Tableau to analyze large datasets and generate meaningful insights
- Support data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data used in analysis
- Participate in meetings and gather information/requirements to support team members and business partners with data and insights
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on mathematics, statistics, computer science, computer engineering, economics, or a related quantitative field
- Advanced Programming skills in Python and R, especially, Packages like, Pandas, Numpy, Plotly, Matplotllib, Seaborn, etc.
- Understanding of Relational Database (and SQL), Hadoop ecosystem, and data visualization tools.
- Ability to perform complex data analysis.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to details and a passion for data-driven decision making
Nice to have
- A risk-oriented mindset: You are curious about the “how” as well as the “why"
·Knowledge of design, development, and implementation utilizing current analytics technologies and architecture, as well as data warehouse concepts and methodologies
- Advanced proficiency with Excel

Please note: This posting is for a 4-months Summer 2026 Student placement with a start date of May 2026, and end date of August 2026. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:
- Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2026 ; or
- If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in August 2026), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
