  • Adecco is currently hiring a Construction Planner for one of our valued clients. In this full-time contract role, you will support construction planning activities within an operating SAGD plant and associated field locations. This position is ideal for someone with strong planning experience in industrial or energy-sector environments who excels at coordinating resources, identifying job steps, and supporting safe and efficient project execution. The role is divided between field and office work, with approximately 40% of time spent onsite and 60% in an office setting.

    • Location: Christina Lake, AB

    • Job Type: Full-time | Temp contract (12 months)

    • Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off, 12-hour shifts

  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide planning expertise for construction projects within an operating SAGD plant and field locations

    • Identify tasks, resources, trades, and job steps required to execute construction work packages

    • Ensure company values, vision, and strategies are clearly understood and implemented

    • Execute departmental strategy through effective planning and communication

    • Create comprehensive plans promoting safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution

    • Follow site processes, procedures, workflows, and standard practices

    • Champion safety initiatives and support a respectful, inclusive, and positive workplace

    • Attend and participate in MOC prioritization meetings and team safety meetings

    • Ensure all construction complies with applicable codes, standards, and specifications

    • Provide construction cost insights to Engineering teams

    • Monitor alignment between construction activities, estimates, and schedule projections; communicate any variances

    • Periodically review Engineering Field Request notifications

    • Develop job steps and enter them into SAP

    • Communicate scope changes to Engineering and submit RFCs appropriately

    • Relay critical planning information to cross-shift teams to support continuity

  • Qualifications:

    • Must be eligible to work and reside within Canada

    • Experience in construction planning within industrial, oil & gas, SAGD, or heavy industrial environments

    • Strong understanding of construction workflows, codes, and trade coordination

    • Ability to plan job steps for multiple trades (electrical, instrumentation, and third-party services)

    • Familiarity with SAP or similar work management systems

    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineering, field teams, and operations

    • Strong safety mindset and understanding of site safety processes

    • Ability to work both in the field and office environments
