Job Description

What is the Opportunity?
Join RBC’s Physical Network Strategy team to drive financial decision-making for Canada’s largest banking network. As a Senior Manager, Financial Strategy & Analysis, you’ll lead capital allocation, financial modeling, and business case development for branch and ATM investments. This role is pivotal in optimizing RBC’s physical network through data-driven financial insights, directly impacting the bank’s strategic growth and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Financial Strategy: Develop and manage long-term financial models (NPV, IRR, payback period) to evaluate network investment opportunities.
  • Budget Ownership: Oversee the annual capital budget process ($X million portfolio), including forecasting, variance analysis, and expense tracking.
  • Business Case Development: Create robust financial cases for network initiatives, incorporating sensitivity analysis and risk assessments.
  • Stakeholder Influence: Present financial recommendations to executive committees and senior leadership, translating complex financial insights into actionable strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Finance (FP&A, Treasury), Real Estate, and Operations teams to ensure financial governance and alignment.
  • Financial Dashboard Management: Design and maintain executive-level financial dashboards to monitor network performance and ROI.

What Do You Need to Succeed?
Must-Have:

  • 5+ years in financial planning, corporate finance, or banking finance roles (e.g., FP&A, investment banking, treasury).
  • Advanced financial modeling skills (DCF, scenario analysis) and expertise in banking financial systems (e.g., Essbase, SAP Finance).
  • Proven ability to influence senior leadership through financial storytelling and data-driven insights.
  • CPA, CFA, or MBA in Finance required.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel (financial functions, automation) and PowerPoint.
  • Strong project management skills to handle multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with banking regulatory capital requirements (e.g., Basel III).
  • Knowledge of physical distribution networks (branches, ATMs) or real estate economics.
  • Familiarity with Alteryx or SQL for data preparation (secondary to finance tools).
